Poetry
Jeannie’s first poem was
published in a Pennsylvania newspaper when she was 13 years old.
In the intervening
years, she has written hundreds more poems, some of which have
received recognition.
Currently, she is putting the finishing touches on an
investigative poetics project, Aland A Land, a hybrid
book of poetry and prose that explores her Swedish ancestry from
that Baltic archipelago.
Jeannie pens a poetry column, ONE
Inspires in the Northeast Journal (that began with the
publication’s Jul/Aug 2017 issue). Every column includes two of her
original poems, and each poem has an accompanying photo inspired by
the Old Northeast (ONE). See

She won a 2017 Children’s Poetry Award
at the Florida Conference of the National League of American Pen
Women for her poem, “Troll Tale,” a fairytale poem from her

In 2010 Jeannie wrote creative non-fiction articles for St.
Pete Magazine and South Tampa Magazine. She
also wrote 32 articles with a local and ethnic tongue-in-cheek slant

Jeannie was a columnist for Believer’s Bay.com Christian online
magazine for two years and covered a topical series on Islam
vs. Christianity, 2001-2002.

For twelve years Jeannie
owned and operated Viking Communications, Inc. in St. Petersburg as
a writing service, specializing in manuscript editing, copywriting

As editor and publishing
consultant for The 12 Spiritual Stones by Rev. Jarman
Esperance, Jeannie’s efforts contributed to the sell-out of the
inspirational book’s first printing.
Jeannie served as editor
in the publication of Breathless? You and Asthma by
Carol Weiss, a book that was well received by both patients and in
the medical community. The author received subsequent offers to
publish this book.
When a manuscript was
refused twice by the same publisher, the author followed the
executive editor’s suggestion to “seek assistance of colleagues in
philosophy and perhaps in English as you develop a more academically
suitable presentation.” After engaging Jeannie’s assistance to
fulfill that objective, “The phenomenology of evil” by
Paul Dickson (https://philarchive.org/rec/DICTPO-2)
was published in The Journal of Value Inquiry by
Kluwer Academic Publishers, a philosophical journal printed in the
Netherlands. Jeannie collaborated with Paul to write several more
philosophical articles that were all published in respected academic
venues.

Her articles on resume preparation have been featured in
the St. Petersburg Times, Equal Opportunity
magazine, Veteran’s Chronicle, Pinellas County Review
and on cable television. Jeannie was solicited by
Career Press editors (Hawthorne, NJ) to write a chapter in four
editions of their nationally distributed book,

As an executive, she has hired, supervised and managed a
staff of 300 field and 20 in-house personnel. As a resume writer,
she has prepared effective resumes for more than 5,000 individuals.
Business Writing
Jeannie began working for Technifax Services, Inc. d/b/a
Advantech Reporting Services, Inc. and progressed from Director of
Communications to Vice President to President and CEO by 2010.
She engineered e-mail marketing campaigns, website
development, video commercial and convention presentations to launch
a new insurance software product line in Florida.
In the business sector, she created brochures, employee
manuals, job descriptions, incentive programs, sales letters,
telemarketing speeches, proposals, advertising, press releases,
articles, company presentations.
Scriptwriting
Jeannie conceptualized and authored a screenplay for Technifax Services, Inc.’s first video commercial, served as
artistic director for location shooting and acted as on-camera
spokesperson. Additionally, she composed copy for the new

website, housing the video commercial
she created, “The Crazy Salesman.”
She has written two full length plays for the theatre, one
of which was a playwriting contest finalist.
Online Training Videos
In 2020 Jeannie was invited to create online writing videos for Keep
St. Pete Lit
www.keepstpetelit.org, a non-profit that promotes and celebrates
St. Petersburg’s writing community.
Setting the Table for Your Story is the first of these
videos that Jeannie created for Keep St. Pete Lit about utilizing
place and space to engage readers in fiction or nonfiction. Included
in the video is a short clip from her interview with New York

Effective Proofreading
is the next video Jeannie made for the organization regarding the
importance of proofreading and how writers can best catch those

Training Module Creation and Administration
Jeannie wrote all voiceover, training copy, quizzes and
final exam for a ground-breaking online training course.
She developed recruiting, hiring and training materials,
standards and procedures for a territory encompassing the entire
southeastern U.S.
Additionally, she trained the trainers, developed the
curriculum and organized continuing education seminars.
Writing
Educator
Jeannie has been an Adjunct Professor
of English and English Literature since 2013. She has taught at
Hillsborough Community College
and St.
Petersburg College.
She served as a faculty judge for the
2017 HCC Writing Contest.
Jeannie served
as an ESOL Instructor with United Methodist Cooperative Ministries
from August 2012 through August 2013.
She
has taught “Resume Writing” seminars at the PCC
Prime Time Surviving the Recession series, for the
Association for Office Professionals, and on behalf of Viking
Communications, Inc.
Jeannie was selected by the St. Petersburg Times
to provide personalized “Resume Reviews” for participants at their
annual JOBFAIR events at the Bayfront Center Arena.

Non-profit Projects
As a liturgical writer on the Liturgical Team for one of
the largest Methodist churches in the state of Florida, Jeannie
composed traditional service liturgies for nearly two years.
As director of communications on a 12-week 2002 Capital
Campaign, Jeannie was instrumental in the Stewardship Team raising
$2+million. She also produced a sales brochure, selected as an
example used by the Florida United Methodist Foundation.
Jeannie has served as an equestrian volunteer at a ranch
where handicapped children learn to ride horses.
Performing Artist
As a professional
singer, Jeannie has sung in operas, operettas, musicals, churches,
cabarets, on television and radio. She has been a lyric soprano on
the roster of Opera Tampa, Tampa Bay Opera, Amato Opera (NYC) and
New York Gilbert & Sullivan Players.
